Description

Beef and Rice Medley for Dogs is a nutritious, homemade meal with protein-rich beef, rice, and veggies, perfect for a balanced diet.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 cup rice (brown rice preferred, but white rice is suitable for sensitive stomachs)
  • 1/2 cup carrots, diced
  • 1/2 cup peas (fresh or frozen)
  • 2 cups water or low-sodium beef broth
  • Optional: Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water to remove excess starch.
  2. In a pot, bring 2 cups of water or low-sodium beef broth to a boil and add the rice.
  3. Reduce the heat, cover, and let the rice simmer until fully cooked, about 15–20 minutes. Set aside to cool.
  4. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned, stirring to break it up. Drain any excess fat.
  5. Add diced carrots and peas to the skillet with the beef. Cook for 5–7 minutes, or until carrots are slightly softened.
  6. Add the cooked rice to the skillet and stir well to combine all ingredients evenly.
  7. Allow the mixture to cool completely before serving to your dog.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days.
  • Freeze portions in freezer-safe bags for up to three months.
  • Adjust portion size based on your dog’s weight, age, and activity level.
  • Avoid adding seasonings like salt or pepper, as these are unnecessary and could be harmful to dogs.
