- 2 medium-sized sweet potatoes, peeled and diced
- 1 cup frozen or fresh peas
- 4 cups low-sodium beef broth or homemade bone broth
- 2 cups water
- Optional: Fresh parsley, finely chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Wash, peel, and dice the sweet potatoes into bite-sized chunks.
- In a large pot or Dutch oven, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned, breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
- Add the diced sweet potatoes to the pot with the browned beef. Pour in the low-sodium beef broth and 2 cups of water. Stir to combine.
- Cover and let it simmer over medium heat for 20-25 minutes or until the sweet potatoes are tender.
- Stir in the peas during the last 5 minutes of cooking.
- Remove from heat and optionally sprinkle with finely chopped fresh parsley.
- Allow the soup to cool completely before serving to your dog.
