Ingredients

Scale

  • 1 lb ground beef (lean or extra lean)
  • 1 large carrot, grated
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats (optional)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional)
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Grate the carrot and chop the parsley (if using).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, grated carrot, rolled oats (if using), egg, coconut oil, and parsley. Mix well until evenly combined.
  3. Form the mixture into small patties, adjusting the size based on your dog’s needs.
  4. Stovetop Method: Heat a frying pan over medium heat and lightly grease with coconut oil. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side until fully cooked.
  5. Oven Method: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the patties on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  6. Allow the patties to cool completely before serving them to your dog.

Notes

  • You can substitute the beef with ground turkey, chicken, or lamb.
  • If your dog doesn’t like carrots, try grated zucchini, sweet potato, or pumpkin as a substitute.
  • Store the cooked burgers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
