Description
Blueberry & Spinach Balls for Dogs are a nutritious, antioxidant-rich homemade treat made with blueberries, spinach, and peanut butter, perfect for keeping your pup healthy and happy.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup fresh spinach, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
- 1/4 cup unsweetened shredded coconut (optional)
- 1/4 cup oat or coconut flour
- 2 tablespoons natural peanut butter (no xylitol)
Instructions
- Wash the spinach and blueberries thoroughly.
- Place the spinach, blueberries, and peanut butter in a blender or food processor. Blend until a thick paste forms. Add a small amount of water if necessary.
- Transfer the mixture to a bowl and gradually add the oat or coconut flour, stirring until a dough-like consistency is reached. Optionally, fold in shredded coconut for added texture.
- Scoop out small portions and roll into bite-sized balls.
- Place the balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week or freeze for longer storage.
Notes
- Ensure peanut butter used does not contain xylitol, which is toxic to dogs.
- If the mixture is too sticky, add more flour gradually until desired consistency is reached.
- Optionally, substitute spinach with kale or blueberries with blackberries for variety.
- Can be used as training rewards or everyday treats.
