Description

Carrot & Apple Bone Crunch Recipe for Dogs is a healthy, homemade treat packed with natural sweetness, fiber, and essential nutrients. These crunchy biscuits support digestion, dental health, and overall well-being. Perfect for training or as a daily snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup grated carrots (fresh, raw)
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce (or 1/2 cup grated apple)
  • 1 3/4 cups oat flour (or whole wheat flour)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • 1/4 cup crushed peanuts or sesame seeds (for extra crunch)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Wash and grate the carrots and apple (if using fresh apple instead of applesauce).
  3. In a large bowl, combine grated carrots, applesauce, egg, coconut oil, and cinnamon. Stir until well combined.
  4. Gradually mix in the oat flour until a dough forms. If the dough is sticky, add more flour one tablespoon at a time.
  5. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4-inch thickness.
  6. Use a bone-shaped cookie cutter (or any shape) to cut out the treats.
  7. Place on a baking sheet and sprinkle crushed peanuts or sesame seeds on top if desired.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and crisp.
  9. For extra crunch, turn off the oven and let the treats cool inside with the door slightly open.
  10. Cool completely before serving. Store in an airtight container.

Notes

  • For a softer treat, bake for 15 minutes instead of 25.
  • For extra crispiness, let the treats dry in the oven after baking.
  • Customize flavors by adding banana, pumpkin, or blueberries.
  • Store at room temperature for 1 week, in the fridge for up to 3 weeks, or freeze for up to 3 months.
