Description
Christmas Snowflake Peanut Butter Biscuits for Dogs are festive, crunchy, and made with dog-safe ingredients like peanut butter, oats, and applesauce. A perfect holiday treat for your pup.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ½ cups whole wheat flour
- ½ cup rolled oats
- ½ cup all-natural peanut butter (xylitol-free)
- ¼ cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1 egg
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon (optional)
- 2–3 tablespoons water (as needed)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
- In a large bowl, mix the whole wheat flour, oats, and cinnamon together.
- In a separate bowl, combine the peanut butter, applesauce, and egg. Mix until smooth.
- Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms. Add water as needed to bring the dough together.
- Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about ¼ inch thickness.
- Use snowflake cookie cutters to cut out shapes and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 18–22 minutes, until golden and firm. Rotate the tray halfway through for even baking.
- Let the biscuits cool completely. For extra crunch, leave them in the oven with the door cracked open for 1 hour after baking.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks or freeze for up to 3 months.
- Ensure peanut butter does not contain xylitol, which is toxic to dogs.
- Use oat flour as a substitute if your dog is sensitive to wheat.
- Optional yogurt icing or coconut flour dusting can add a festive touch.
