It’s customizable, versatile, and quick to prepare, making it a go-to for busy pet parents who want to spoil their furry friends.

Ingredients

Scale

  • 1 cup of cooked brown rice (plain, no added salt or seasonings)
  • ½ cup of cooked, diced chicken breast (unseasoned)
  • ¼ cup of peas and carrots (steamed, no added salt or seasonings)
  • 1 egg (optional, scrambled)
  • 1 tablespoon of coconut oil (for cooking)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Cook the brown rice and steam the peas and carrots if not already done. Dice the cooked chicken into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Cook the Egg (Optional): In a non-stick frying pan, heat a small amount of coconut oil over medium heat. Crack the egg into the pan, scramble until fully cooked, then remove and set aside.
  3. Sauté Chicken and Veggies: In the same pan, add a little more coconut oil. Toss in the diced chicken, peas, and carrots. Sauté until heated through.
  4. Combine Everything: Add the cooked rice to the pan and stir everything together. If using scrambled egg, add it now. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until everything is well mixed and warm.
  5. Cool and Serve: Allow the fried rice to cool before serving it to your dog.

Notes

  • Ensure the fried rice is completely cooled before serving to your dog to prevent burns.
  • Avoid adding any seasonings, salt, garlic, or onions, as these can be harmful to dogs.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days, or freeze in portion-sized containers for up to a month.
