Description
Healthy and easy-to-make Peanut Butter and Banana Dog Biscuits packed with wholesome ingredients for a tail-wagging treat.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ripe banana, mashed
- 1/2 cup unsalted, sugar-free peanut butter
- 2 cups whole wheat flour (or oat flour for gluten-sensitive dogs)
- 1/4 cup water (adjust as needed)
- 1 tablespoon honey (optional)
- 1/4 cup rolled oats (optional)
- A dash of cinnamon (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
- In a large bowl, mash the ripe banana until smooth. Add the peanut butter and honey (if using) and mix well.
- Gradually add the flour to the wet mixture, mixing with a spoon, then knead with your hands to form a firm dough. Add water one tablespoon at a time if needed.
- Sprinkle flour on a clean surface and roll out the dough to about 1/4-inch thickness. Cut out shapes with cookie cutters.
- Place the shaped dough on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Allow the biscuits to cool completely on a wire rack before serving to your dog.
Notes
- Ensure the peanut butter used is unsalted and does not contain xylitol.
- For gluten-sensitive dogs, substitute whole wheat flour with oat or rice flour.
- Store biscuits in an airtight container for up to one week, or refrigerate/freeze for longer storage.
- Introduce new ingredients slowly to monitor for potential allergies.
