Description

These Pumpkin & Chicken Bites for Dogs are packed with healthy, dog-friendly ingredients like pumpkin, chicken, and oats. They’re easy to make, nutritious, and perfect for treating your dog during training or just as a special snack. This simple recipe is a great way to show your dog some love while giving them something healthy to enjoy.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup cooked chicken, shredded (plain, no seasoning)
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree (unsweetened)
  • 1/2 cup oats (whole or ground)
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional)
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Cook and shred the chicken: Boil or bake plain chicken breast until fully cooked. Let cool, then shred into small pieces.
  2. Mix the ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the shredded chicken, pumpkin puree, oats, and coconut oil. Crack the egg into the mixture and stir until well combined.
  3. Form the bites: Roll the mixture into bite-sized balls using your hands or a cookie scoop. Place them on a lined baking sheet.
  4. Bake the bites: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the bites for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown and firm.
  5. Cool and serve: Let the bites cool completely before serving to your dog. Store in the refrigerator for up to one week, or freeze for longer storage.

Notes

  • You can substitute chicken with turkey or beef if your dog prefers.
  • If your dog needs a grain-free option, replace oats with almond flour or coconut flour.
  • Ensure all ingredients used are dog-friendly, and avoid adding any seasonings, particularly salt, garlic, or onion.
