Description

Sweet Potato & Green Bean Chews for Dogs are a healthy, easy-to-make treat packed with nutrients and flavor. Perfect for pups of all sizes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large sweet potatoes
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen green beans
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional)
  • A sprinkle of cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 250°F (120°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Wash the sweet potatoes and green beans thoroughly. Trim the ends off the green beans.
  3. Optional: Peel the sweet potatoes or leave the skin on for added fiber. Slice the sweet potatoes into long, thin strips (about ¼ inch thick).
  4. Blanch the green beans in boiling water for 2-3 minutes, then immediately transfer to an ice bath. Pat dry.
  5. Lay the sweet potato slices on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 2-3 hours, flipping halfway through, until the slices are dry but pliable.
  6. Once partially dried, place one or two blanched green beans lengthwise on each sweet potato slice and gently press or wrap the sweet potato around the green beans.
  7. Optional: Lightly sprinkle turmeric powder, brush with coconut oil, or add a touch of cinnamon for extra flavor.
  8. Place the assembled chews back into the oven or dehydrator for an additional 1-2 hours until fully dried.
  9. Let the chews cool completely before storing in an airtight container in the refrigerator or freezer.

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks or in the freezer for longer storage.
