Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1/2 lb fresh green beans, chopped into bite-sized pieces
- 1/2 cup lean ground beef or turkey (optional)
- Fresh parsley (for garnish, optional)
- A pinch of turmeric (optional)
Instructions
- Peel and cube the sweet potatoes, then place them in a pot with water and bring to a boil. Let cook for 15-20 minutes, or until soft enough to mash.
- While sweet potatoes are cooking, wash and chop green beans into bite-sized pieces. Steam for 5-7 minutes until tender but still crunchy.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef or turkey until fully browned, then drain any excess fat.
- Once sweet potatoes are tender, drain water and mash them until smooth. Add in the green beans and cooked meat, mixing everything together well.
- Serve with a sprinkle of fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
- Portion sizes vary based on dog size and dietary needs; consult your veterinarian if unsure.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to three days or frozen for longer storage.
- You can substitute other dog-safe vegetables like carrots or peas for green beans if desired.
