Tuna and Parsley Balls for Dogs are nutritious, easy-to-make, and delicious homemade treats. Made with protein-rich tuna and fresh parsley to help with your dog’s breath, these soft yet chewy treats are perfect for dogs of all sizes and ages. Simple to prepare, they are a great option for a wholesome snack or training reward.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can of tuna (packed in water, drained)
  • 1 cup fresh parsley (finely chopped)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour (or oat/almond flour for substitutions)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Drain the tuna and place it into a large mixing bowl. Break it into small chunks.
  3. Add finely chopped parsley to the bowl.
  4. Crack the egg into the mixture and add olive oil. Stir until combined.
  5. Slowly mix in the flour until you get a sticky dough.
  6. Form small balls (golf ball-sized for large dogs, marble-sized for small dogs).
  7. Place the balls on the baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Allow the treats to cool completely before serving.

Notes

  • For dogs with wheat allergies, substitute whole wheat flour with oat flour, almond flour, or coconut flour.
  • You can use canned salmon or mackerel as a substitute for tuna.
  • These treats store well in the fridge for up to a week or can be frozen for up to 3 months.
  • Ensure treats are completely cool before offering them to your dog.
