Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs ground turkey
  • 2 large sweet potatoes (peeled and diced)
  • 1 cup carrots (chopped)
  • 1 cup peas (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 cup spinach (chopped)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or coconut oil
  • 2 eggs (beaten)
  • ½ cup oat flour or chickpea flour
  • 1 tsp turmeric (optional)
  • 1 cup water or bone broth

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Peel and dice sweet potatoes. Spread on the baking sheet, drizzle with olive oil, and roast for 25-30 minutes, until tender.
  3. While the sweet potatoes roast, brown the ground turkey in a non-stick pan over medium heat. Break into small pieces and set aside.
  4. Steam the carrots, peas, and spinach until soft. Set aside to cool.
  5. In a large bowl, combine the roasted sweet potatoes, turkey, vegetables, eggs, oat flour, and turmeric (if using).
  6. Pulse the mixture in a food processor until crumbly and uniform. Add water or bone broth as needed for consistency.
  7. Spread the mixture evenly on a lined baking sheet and press down to ¼-inch thickness.
  8. Bake at 325°F (160°C) for 30-40 minutes, or until golden and crunchy. Flip halfway for extra crunch.
  9. Cool completely before breaking into bite-sized kibble pieces.
  10. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week or freeze for up to 3 months.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground turkey with chicken, beef, or lamb.
  • For a grain-free option, use chickpea flour instead of oat flour.
  • Add a drizzle of fish oil for extra omega-3 benefits.
  • Use bone broth instead of water for enhanced flavor and nutrients.
  • Make sure kibble is completely cool before storing to maintain crispness.
